Window with a view – Week 3 from Bec

This week has showcased the fabulous resilience, commitment and communal effort from teachers & staff that keeps Korowal chugging along. We have had numerous illnesses and injuries that have required extra duties from our staff, and additional relief teachers to step in. Everyone has been ready to do what is needed each day.

We wish all those recovering at home a restful weekend.

Caroline is joyfully resting at home after welcoming her new son Jebediah Norman John this week. Jebediah was born at 1:05am on Wednesday 10th May weighing 7 pounds 15 ounces. We offer our congratulations to Caroline and her family.

Thank you to all the teachers and aides who helped supervise and support students completing Naplan tests this week. All students were well cared for by their teachers and the tests were completed with calm and focus.

Looking at various solids, liquids and gases is part of the current Year 5 & 6 Focus Study. There were a few confusing substances such as Golden Syrup and Tumeric powder.

Year 10 were out in the big city of Sydney during the last days of the week, completing the Urban Challenge with Mark & Barb. Each student was given a role in their group to undertake an adventure…stay tuned for photos.

Week 3 ends in a cold and overcast day, which hasn’t stopped Primary classes from being outside. Kindergarten have some parent volunteers helping them weed and mulch our Courtyard garden beds, ready to rest for the winter. It’s a lovely healthy way to end the week!
