Thank you Judith Lucy! What a gem!
The second half of Week 3 at Korowal was quiet! With our HSC Year 11 and 12 students on stuvac and undertaking HSC exams, plus Year 10 on their city camp at Cockatoo Island and Year 8 on camp at Deep Pass, the high school was one third quieter and less populated than usual from Wednesday to Friday.
At the end of Week 2 of Term 4, we wish to share some of the developments that we have made over the past three terms, for we are beginning to see the results of collegial discussion and reflection by staff. We have begun to develop and implement small changes to curriculum delivery at Korowal.
Welcome back to school for Term 4 as we embrace the final opportunities for us to enjoy events for 2015.
Our final week of Term 3 is now complete. May you have a happy, relaxing and safe holiday!
While there were many highlights I wish to dedicate this week’s musings to honouring our Year 12 graduating students, their parents and teachers.
In Week 9 at Korowal, K,1,2 were preparing then performing their delightful concert, Year 5 welcomed their individualized letters of reply on environmental concerns from Trish Doyle, Years 11 and 12 students breathed sighs of relief as they submitted their final HSC school assessment tasks, and the HSC Music Practical Examination was conducted on Tuesday.
The landscape is awash with blossom, people are sneezing and the students are leaving jackets and jumpers all over the school. Spring is in the air in Week 8 at Korowal!
Week 6 brought us a touch of Spring in our beautiful mountains home at Hazelbrook. The week began at 8.00am on Monday morning with construction work commencing on our library extension and the electric tools and demolition continued to resound until Thursday. Stage 1 is now complete and we await the concreters.
At the end of week 5 the term has settled back into regular routines. Open Day was delightful, Bush Day created a colourful background to the entrance of the primary school, our Japanese visitors have been and gone, Year 9 have recovered from an exhilarating camp, and excursions are a regular feature throughout the school throughput this term. There are a few different viruses and colds about so please take care. The students are better off resting at home rather than attending school when they are unwell.
