It has been a relatively quiet week by comparison to last week! Saturday night’s performance of Cabaret was most enjoyable and it was wonderful to see so many families and friends enjoying the performance. Again, congratulations and thank you to all involved for an absolutely splendid showcase of our students’ and teachers’ talents. Thank you also to all who supported us by buying raffle tickets.
Barb is getting much better. She will be increasing her workload this coming week, but will remain home based to facilitate the healing of the whiplash. We all miss her very much and want her to be fully fit when she does return; she’s really keen to be here too!
The return to school is imminent with a pupil free day on Monday and the students’ return for Term 2 on Tuesday.
The term is almost at an end and Week 9 brought some lovely acts of random kindness. The feel of the school is very positive. There has been a lot of activity outside of our routine this week so a quick summary is in order.
In Week 7 we managed to grab perhaps the final hot day for Autumn as the high school enjoyed their swimming carnival. With colourful themes, sunshades and scrumptious baking, the year groups competed for points to add to their swimming participation tally.
Week 6 was a superb week for Korowal School. Quite apart from the beautiful days and outdoor play all week (rather than wet weather play), and our visit from Amna of the Australian Federal Police to speak with primary and high school students about cybersafety, we achieved another milestone in our history.
With Week 5 passing and Autumn imminent, we are now half way through the first term and, as we have settled, it is time to undertake our major professional development project for 2015. This is a new initiative for Korowal.
