From the window with a view - week 8, term 4 2017


We have now completed our penultimate week of the school year as we farewell Week 8 of Term 4, 2017. Years 3 and 4 celebrated the year with a beautiful concert of song, poetry and music; Year 2 had their first class sleepover and took a local tour of the Christmas lights by night; High School Parent/Teacher interviews were again a great success; and we held our IT meeting with parents from Year 6 and beyond to discuss safe use of computers and devices. Yesterday, Saturday, we celebrated our 40th Birthday. The sun shone upon us as we welcomed past, present and future Korowallians. It was a joyous occasion. From the window with a view - week 4, term 4 2017


The school was certainly quieter this week. Year 8 were on camp, Year 10 were sitting exams, the final HSC exams were taken, and we held pupil free days for high school. We have been preparing for the change in academic years in Week 4 and are now ready to welcome our high school students into their new years on Monday, when Year 7 becomes Year 8, and so on.

From the window with a view - week 3, term 4 2017


As we farewell Week 3 of Term 2, the high school is preparing for the academic year changeover. In Week 4, the Year 10 students will sit their exams, Year 8 attend camp, and Years 9 and 7 complete their subjects in readiness for the new year. Thursday and Friday will be pupil free days for Years 7-10 as the staff sign off on the 2017 academic programs and prepare 2017-18. Then on Monday, 8th November, at the start of Week 5, all of the classes go up a year. Year 10 begin preparations for Year 11 senior study programs before formally commencing their new subjects in Week 6, with the new Year 12. There is no slowing down for us this term!

From the window with a view - week 8, term 3 2017


In Week 8, our Year 11 and 12 students completed their HSC Trial exams and will now enter their final two weeks of classes for this cycle, the final two weeks of school for our Year 12 students! We are preparing our farewells. Next Friday the examiners come to school and our Music students will perform their HSC Practical Examination components. We have enjoyed their talents for many years, and believe they will approach this task with aplomb.[Read More...]

At this point we again comment that the year is flying. Our Year 11 and 12 students have their trial exams over the coming week, and then Year 12, their families and the School, will celebrate their Graduation at a Ceremony on Thursday 21st September. We wish them all calm and centred thought processes as they undertake this penultimate HSC ritual.[Read More...]
