1) Charles Sturt University is holding a MyDay Dentistry & Health event on Monday 4 June 2012 for Dental and Health courses on the Orange campus.
2) Blue Mountains Refugee Support Group fundraising concert 19th May
On Monday K,1,2 and their teachers were treated to a wonderful visit from Auntie Mary, David King and Ellie Chatfield. Auntie Mary and David are from the Gundungurra tribe and Ellie is a member of the Gamilleroi tribe, based in the Moree area, though the Blue Mountains are now her home.
David brought lots of artifacts for the children to see as well as some beautifully decorated materials, but the highlights were definitely the stories about how local Aboriginal peoples used to live, their love and respect for the bush and their delight at being able to share their stories with us.
The children were spellbound...
We are now into our third year of using the Macquarie University intensive reading program 'MultiLit'.
On Wed. May 30th at 7 pm, there will be an information evening for students beginning their HSC program in 2013. Please spread the word to families or students who might be interested in our Pathways program. There are vacancies for 2013. HSC classes begin during term 4 each year, so students must be enrolled by the end of term 3 in year 10.
