After 30 years on leased premises in Leura, Korowal purchased its own school property - an inspiring heritage-listed estate on seven hectares between Lawson and Hazelbrook. It was originally built in 1908 as the R.T.Hall Sanitorium and is situated on the top of a north-easterly slope with magnificent views.
The original brick buildings are arranged around three courtyards. During the 1980s these were extended. The grounds consist of bushland, grassland and formal gardens.
During 2008 Korowal converted and upgraded the buildings for use as a school. Much renovation has been completed, but the project is ongoing.
Owning our own school provides us with long term security, and allows us to work towards our ideal of becoming a sustainable school - environmentally, socially and educationally.
