STUDENTS FIND THEIR VOICE
Our Yr 9/10 Work Education have been doing a unit on Community Participation where they have been discussing ways services in the Blue Mountains could be improved for teenagers. Each student drafted an email to our local MP, Trish Doyle, expressing their ideas, and then were given the option to actually send them to her.
We were really impressed to receive a reply back that day asking to come and visit the students and talk about their ideas. Trish visited the school this week and the students did a great job talking to her. She gave them lots of ideas about how to follow through and how she could support them to do so.
This was a great opportunity for Korowal students to have a voice in a forum where their views are appreciated and listened to.
