High School Music

  • Start Week 3, Term 2, 2025

  • 0.6-1.0 FTE Permanent Position

This is an opportunity for a passionate Music teacher to join a progressive and supportive school community. The successful candidate will be passionate about providing inquiry-based learning and be an engaging and effective classroom practitioner whose knowledge, skills and passion for Music will inspire students to engage deeply in this important subject. The Music teacher is responsible for the complete music program in high school, from Years 7-12. In addition to this we hold a Musical Cabaret every second year, where the teacher is the band leader and musical director.

This position is 1.0FTE for 2025. Due to the compressed HSC curriculum taught at Korowal, this role alternates between 1.0-0.6FTE (depending on successful candidate).

Qualifications

  • Qualified to teach Stage 4-6 Music (ability to teach another KLA would be an advantage).
  • Relevant education qualifications including a current NESA accreditation.
  • Experience teaching Music in Stages 4, 5 and 6.
  • Extensive pedagogical knowledge base and understanding 
  • A variety of effective teaching strategies that engage students of varying abilities 
  • Sound understanding of the learning environments, unit design, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and design of assessment and feedback
  • Committed to the continual improvement of their teaching practice 
  • Able to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning

High School (Stage 6) Modern & Ancient History & Year 7-10 HSIE

  • Start Week 4, Term 2, 2025 
  • Collaborative team environment 
  • 1.0 FTE Permanent Position

This is an opportunity for a passionate History and Geography teacher to join a progressive and supportive school community. The successful candidate will be passionate about providing inquiry-based learning and be an engaging and effective classroom practitioner whose knowledge, skills and passion for Stage 4-6 HSIE (Modern and Ancient History) will inspire students to engage deeply in this important subject.
