Camps & Excursions
Our students participate in various excursions as well as yearly camps that challenge them physically, intellectually, and emotionally. Each class, from Year 3 through to Year 12, participates in an annual camp ranging from outdoor education adventures to overseas trips. Camps are an integral part of our curriculum and provide opportunities for personal growth, friendship, leadership, and adventure.
Excursions are also planned throughout the year to augment and enrich learning experiences within the classroom. These can range from historical, artistic, scientific and cultural experiences that allow students to learn in different contexts and hear from experts in various fields.
High School Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs)
At Korowal, we recognise the importance of co-curricular activities in providing a well-rounded education. One afternoon each week is devoted to co-curricular activities, offering students the chance to explore new interests, develop new skills, and make social connections with peers who share similar passions. These activities vary each semester and include options such as:
- Theatre Sports
- Chess
- Model United Nations (MUN)
- Digital Art
- Lighting and sound design
- STEM, Design, 3D printing, and Robotics
- Drama
- Junior and Senior Bands
- Sustainability and bush regeneration
- Craft
- and student generated clubs such as Dungeons and Dragons
Students have the opportunity to select a new co-curricular activity each semester, allowing them to broaden their experiences and meet new people. These activities not only enrich students’ school lives but also help them to discover and nurture their interests, fostering both personal and social growth.
Junior & Senior Bands
Alongside our whole-school Music programme, students from Year 4 onwards have the opportunity to participate in a school band. We currently have two bands, Junior (Years 4 to 7) and Senior (Years 8 to 12). Korowal students are always encouraged to try new things and pursue their passions.
Korowal Studios
Korowal Studios offers students the opportunity to learn extra-curricular music classes at Korowal School during and after school hours. We proudly host a number of talented music instructors covering piano, strings, woodwind and percussion. For more information about Korowal Studios, please click below.

With access to the school bus, high school classes can take advantage of local facilities in addition to our school resources including council swimming pools, the local CrossFit gym, bushwalking trails in Hazelbrook and Lawson, climbing gyms, local skate bowls, and the Hazelbrook Club for lawn bowls and croquet.
Our annual sporting events include:
- Primary School Swimming Carnival – Year 3–6

- Whole School Fun Run K-12
Specialist coaches from sporting leagues such as hockey, basketball, cricket, AFL and tennis are brought into the school to run programs, as well as specialist instructors for other sports such as dance, martial arts, circus, and fencing. Our primary school students participate in an intensive learn-to-swim program each year.
